On Thursday night Alphonso Davies made a dramatic return to B.C.
The Superstar midfielder scored twice while playing his first game in Vancouver since October 2018 by encouraging the men of Canada soccer team to a decisive 4-0 win over Curacao to open their CONCACAF Nations League Campaign.
“When I came to the stadium for training, I became excited with the memories of the past,” said Davies who caught international attention as a teenager playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps.
“It was really exciting to play here because I used to play here when I was 14 till 17 and the moment I scored brought me back all the memories of the past game I had played with the Whitecaps. And it’s a matter of great pride and happiness for that I scored today,” said Davies
“That was really a brilliant performance from our lads. I am really proud of them. I am really impressed to see their great performance given everything that has gone on the last few days,” said head coach John Herdman.
